Sub: Conduct of Bye-election to 03 Parliamentary and 30 Assembly Constituencies in various States – Grant of paid holiday to employees on the day of poll – reg.

The undersigned is directed to state that the Election Commission of India, vide their letter No.78/ 2021-EPS, dated 01/ 10/2021, has announced conduct of Bye – election to 03 Parliamentary Constituencies in States/ UT, namely; UT of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh and 30 Assembly Constituencies in various States, as per details given below:

In this regard, it is stated that the guidelines have been issued by this Department, vide OM No.12 / 14/ 99-JCA, dated 10.10.2001, regarding closure of Central Government offices and grant of paid holiday to all concerned on the date of election. It is reiterated that all the Central Government Offices and the Central Industrial Establishments, located in the relevant constituencies shall remain closed on the date of Poll, i.e. 30.10.2021 (Saturday). The employees concerned shall be granted paid holiday on the date of Poll to enable them to exercise their right to vote.
