The Central Board of Direct Taxes, or CBDT “extends the time for linking PAN with Aadhaar (while filing the tax-returns) till 31 March 2019”.

Income-tax Rules amended to provide that bank shall obtain and link PAN or Form No. 60 (where PAN is not available) in all existing bank accounts (other than BSBDA) by 28.02.2017.
Central Government has made PAN number as mandatory for opening Savings Bank Account including other 20 transactions where the transactions exceed a specified limit. Persons who do not hold PAN are required to fill a form and furnish any one of the specified documents to establish their identity.
