Exemption of Railway Employees from NPS – NFIR demand

National Federation of Indian Railwaymen has requested Railway Minister to exempt Railway employees from NPS and to continue Liberalised Pension Scheme as followed for the employees who joined 01.01.2004. NFIR states that the duties, responsibilities, risk involved, remoteness, arduous and hazardous conditions of railway employee are akin to that of Army Personnel

PFRDA has released key details of NPS for NRIs following the decision taken by RBI to allow Non-resident Indians to subscribe in National Pension System of India which is popularly known as NPS. This may be a win-win situation for both for NPS in terms of volume it can achieve and for NRIs as they get a product that provides good long term investment cum retirement security.
