Recruitment Mode

The recruitment for both positions will be carried out through:

Eligibility Criteria

1. Scientist ‘D’

  • Age Limit: Up to 40 years (relaxable for government servants up to five years).
  • Qualifications:
    • Master’s Degree in Physics/ Applied Physics with specializations in Astrophysics, Quantum Physics, Electronics, or Nanoscience from a recognized University or Institute.
    • Alternatively, a B.E./ B. Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Material Sciences, or Metallurgy.
    • Master’s Degree in Chemistry/ Applied Chemistry, B.E./ B.Tech in Chemical or Petroleum Engineering, or equivalent.
    • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, AI & ML, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Data Sciences, or related fields.
    • Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Operational Research, or related disciplines.
  • Experience: Eight years of experience in relevant fields such as scientific organizations, industrial research, R&D in academic institutions, or government-funded labs.
  • Desirable: A Doctorate in the above-mentioned fields is preferred.

2. Scientist ‘E’

  • Age Limit: Up to 45 years (relaxable for government servants up to five years).
  • Qualifications:
    • PhD in Physics/ Applied Physics with specializations in Astrophysics, Quantum Physics, Electronics, Nanoscience, or equivalent from a recognized institute.
    • Alternatively, an M.E./ M.Tech in Electronics, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Data Science, or related fields.
  • Experience: Ten years of relevant experience in scientific and technological organizations or R&D institutions.
  • Desirable: A Doctorate and experience in national policy drafting, designing technological missions, and other high-level research.

Application Procedure

  1. Mode of Application:
    • Applications must be neatly typed on A-4 size paper and submitted in the prescribed format (Annexure-III).
    • Applications should be forwarded through the proper channel for deputation-based recruitment.
    • Supporting documents including Annual Performance Reports, integrity certificates, and details of penalties (if any) must be attached.
  2. Deadline:
    • Applications should be sent within 45 days from the issuance of this circular. For remote locations such as Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, etc., the deadline is extended to 60 days.
    • The last date for receipt of applications is 28th October 2024 for most locations, and 11th November 2024 for remote areas.
