Sub:- Settlement of dues of officers/staff on retirement working at construction organizations.
Ref:- 1. Board’s letter no. 2019/AC-II/21/7 dated 27.9.2019 (RBA No. 91/2019)
2. Board’s letter of even no. dated 24.2.2022.
Board, vide letter under reference (ii) ibid (copy enclosed), has sought information regarding the present practice followed in ZRs for payment of settlement dues. Reports received from most of the Railways reveal that though completed Service Registers of the employees retiring from the construction units are submitted to the lien unit/Railway, payment of settlement dues is partly done by the construction office and partly by the lien unit/Railway. This is causing inordinate delay in payment of settlement dues to these staff.
It is therefore advised to streamline the existing process to arrange payment of settlement dues by lien units only without any delay. A line of confirmation may also be sent to Board.
