Sub.: Reservation in Promotion to the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBDs)- Promotion from Group ‘C’ to Group ‘B’ posts.
Ref.: DOP&T’s OM No.36012/1/2020-Estt.(Res.II) dated 17.05.2022.
In terms of Board’s letter no.E(NG)I/2019/PM4/8 dated 1.7.2022, the instructions issued by DOP&T vide their OM No.36012/1/2020-Estt.(Res.II) dated 17.05.2022 have been adopted mutatis mutandis for grant of reservation in promotion to PwBD in the non-gazetted posts of Indian Railways as identified vide Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment’s notification no.38-16/2020-DD-III dated 4/01/2021 and Board’s letter no.E(NG)II/2017/RC-2/1/Policy dated 27/02/2019.
2. The issue of providing reservation to PWBDs in promotion from Group ‘C’ to Group ‘B’ posts has also been examined by the Board. Accordingly, it has been decided that the instructions issued by DOP&T vide their aforementioned OM dated 17.5.2022 may be made applicable mutatis mutandis for grant of reservation to PwBD in promotion from Group ‘C’ to Group ‘B’ posts. These instructions will be applicable on Selections/LDCEs for promotion to Group ‘B’ posts to be notified after the date of issue of these instructions.
