Redeployment of running staff rendered surplus after crew review in North Eastern Railway: Railway Board Order dated 21.01.2022

The issues raised in N.E. Railway’s letters cited above have been examined in consultation with concerned Directorates of Railway Board and it has been decided as under:
a) Redeployment of crew may be considered only after a final crew review has been done and excess crew is identified.
b) In order to reduce excess staff in these cadres, request of such staff for inter railway/ inter division transfer may be considered in relaxation of five years service requirement.
(c) (i) If need arises, Railway may call for option of staff for absorption in other categories/ department in the same pay level namely ALPs as Technician & ESM and Sr. Shunter/ Loco Pilot as ASM/ Guard. Such absorption shall however be only against DR quota subject to employees meeting required eligibility criteria.
(ii) Seniority and Pay fixation of such staff on their absorption shall be fixed as per extant rules.
