Sub: Clarification on retention of Railway accommodation at previous place of posting by DRMs – relaxations and conditions governing retention-reg.
Ref: Board’s letter No. E(G) 2021 RN 2-2 dated 01.07.2022.
Keeping in view of requests received from DRMs and considering their practical challenges, short tenure duty and posting of DRMs being different from usual transfer, it is clarified that the retention of Railway accommodation to DRMs may be allowed on the following lines:
(i) Officers may be permitted to retain their Railway accommodation at the previous place of posting for two months on normal rent.
(ii) ‘If applicable, officers may be allowed retention on educational grounds to cover the current academic session of their wards in terms of Board’s letter dated 24.11.2020.
(iii) Beyond the initial two months and retention on educational grounds, officers would be required to pay special license fee as per Board’s letter dated 01.07.2022.
2. This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
