(32.7) – Enhancement of Additional Pension
The Ex-Defence Employees Welfare Association, Balasore and All India Organisation of Pensioners (Civil & Military), Kerala mentioned that as per the existing system, for pensioners below the age of 80 years, basic pension does not change for at least 10 years, i.e. till next pay commission. The Association suggested to consider the increase in pension @ 1% every year, so that after 20 years of retirement he/she gets 20 per cent, if alive. Alternatively, after retirement at the age of 60 years, additional 5% of pension may be granted after every 5 years which will lead to 20% after attaining age of 80 years.
