Respected Sir,

With reference to BPS letter No. BPS/SG/DIRGHAYU/24/1 dated 12.04.2024 addressed to your esteemed office, and our affiliate Pensioners Association of Railways Secunderabad, I, on behalf of Bharat Pensioners Samaj and its affiliates, express our gratitude for your ongoing commitment to the welfare of government pensioners. We hold you in high regard as the Secretary in the Government of India’s Department of Personnel and Pensioners’ Welfare, and as a dedicated advocate for the central government pensioners’ community.

However, I must express our strong protest the continued disparity in treatment between Railway pensioners and central civil pensioners. It is disheartening to note that approximately 1.5 million Railway pensioners are being overlooked in favour of the roughly 1.1 million central civil pensioners.

As previously mentioned, Bharat Pensioners Samaj fails to understand the rationale behind excluding Railway and defence pensioners from the benefits of the DIRGHAYU mobile application. This exclusion has caused significant concern and dismay among our members.

We respectfully urge you to address this issue and ensure equitable treatment for all pensioners, regardless of their service background.
