Inclusion of names of dependents in Pension PPO
The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, has considered the problems faced by the Pensioners/family pensioners or their heirs for inclusion of names of widowed or divorced or unmarried daughter/parents/dependent disabled siblings (i.e. brothers and sisters) in the Pension Payment Orders (PPO).
Instances have been brought to notice of Ministry about the reluctance of Ministries/Departments/authorities to include names of such eligible dependents. To streamline the procedure and ease the difficulties of the pensions in the matter, the Ministry has laid down that the list of eligible dependents as declared by the pensioner/his spouse or by the eligible dependent in case the pensioner/spouse has already expired.
This OM has been issued by the Ministry in concurrence of Deptt. of Expr. vide UO No. 368/EV/2010 dated 15.06.2010.
