### How Revised Pay on grant of MACP is fixed ?

 Revised Pay in Pay Band after MACP = Pre MACP Pay in PB + 3% of (Pre MACP pay PB + Pre MACP Grade Pay)

Then Revised Pay in Pay Band is rounded to next multiple of 10

### How to Use GConnect MACP Calculator ?

Enter the following Details in the Fields provided

• Pay in Pay Band that was received before MACP date
• Grade Pay drawn before MACP date
• Grade Pay applicable on grant of MACP

(This will be the next grade pay in the hierarchy of grade pay table. In certain cases present grade pay and next grade pay in the hierarchy would be same. In that case enter the same grade pay in the field against grade pay on grant of MACP)

• Transport Allowance applicable before grant of MACP
• Transport Allowance applicable on grant of MACP

As transport allowance for Central Government Employees is based on grade pay, if an employee gets enhanced grade pay that is eligible for higher Transport allownce then same will be granted after MACP. Transport Allowance entered will be used to estimate the arrears of pay.

Transport Allowance allowed after implementation of 6th CPC is as follows

In 13 Cities Classified as A1 / A earlier Other Places
Grade Pay of Rs.5400 & above Rs. 3200 + DA thereon Rs. 1600 + DA thereon
Grade pay of Rs. 42000, Rs.4600 and Rs. 4800Those drawing grade pay below Rs. 4200 but drawing Pay in the pay band equal to Rs.7440 and above Rs. 1600 + DA thereon Rs. 800 + DA thereon
Grade Pay below 4200 and pay in pay band below Rs.7440 Rs. 600 + DA thereon Rs. 400 + DA thereon

HRA Percentage – Select the appropriate HRA percentage. Similar to Transport Allowance, HRA percentage selected is used to calculate arrears of pay on account of MACP.

NPA Select Yes if you are receiving NPA (Non-Practicing Allowance)

Starting date of MACP – Select the Date from which MACP is granted. This is the starting date for calculating arrears of pay. As MACPS takes effect from 1st September 2008, Revised pay and arrears can be calculated from this date.

Option for fixing Pay – Select Yes if you have opted to fix MACP revised pay from July i.e on the date of next increment – This feature of the tool would very much useful to compare the benefits of two options available to an employee on grant of MACP. In certain cases, fixation of pay on the date of MACP would be beneficial as arrears of pay will be more. Fixation of Pay on next increment date will be beneficial in some cases in the form of more revised pay in PB. Users can try both of these options in the MACP calculator to verify which of the options is beneficial to them

Ending Date up to which Arrears of Pay on MACP is to be calculated. As DA up to December 2014 is known presently, Arrears of Pay can be calculated till this date. This part of the tool will be regularly updated after announcement of DA from January and July each year.
