Kalpana Tripathi, who claimed the certificate did not meet the advertised requirement of a recognized matriculation certificate.

In March 2024, the Central Administrative Tribunal ruled in favor of Kalpana Tripathi, canceling Madhumita’s appointment. The Tribunal argued that Madhumita’s qualification did not fulfill the requirements mentioned in the job advertisement.

The Allahabad High Court, however, ruled in favor of Madhumita. The Court emphasized that recruitment rules issued by the Postal Department allowed for equivalent qualifications, and these rules should take precedence over the job advertisement.
