Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA), Defence Accounts Department’s release says that there are 24.61 lakhs pensioners, spread across the country. On an average 45,000 Defence Forces personnel and Defence civilians retire every year and become part of pensioners’ strength

As per Principal Controller of Defence Accounts Smart cards to be issued to eligible Retired Defence Civilian Employees for using in CSD Canteen. Smart Chip Limited Lucknow had been contacted and upon hearing from them necessary forms will be collected and the process will be completed with in 4-5 weeks
So far Defence Civilian Employees who are on service were only eligible for procuring goods from CSD Canteen. Now, retired Defence Civilian Employees have also been included for as eligible persons to utilise CSD Canteen facilities
PCDA has issued a circular mentioning deviations in the medical bills submitted by Defence Civilians (Non DAO)
