While BSNL is in the forefront of 3G mobile services that includes internet broadband, Reliance Communications Ltd has forayed into wireless Internet Broadband service. A user who takes this service can have broadband internet connection by merely using a wireless Modem that could be attached to a USB port of a computer. It’s named as Reliance NetConnect Broadband+ Evdo (3G) and it’s surely a blessing for those looking for a high speed internet service on the go!

Features of Reliance Netconnect Broadband+ include:

* 20 times faster than its traditional CDMA net connection, with speed upto 3.1 Mpbs

But 10GB capping aspect on the unlimited connection will surely be a concern to browsing heavy-weights.

This wireless Broadband service will be facing stiff challenges from 3G Mobile broadband internet services to be provided by BSNL, MTNL and Airtel soon. MTNL has earlier launched 3G commercially in the national capital while BSNL launched it’s 3G services in chennai recently. BSNL’s official report says 3G services would be launched in 13 more cities — Lucknow, Agra, Ambala, Dehradun, Jammu, Shimla, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Patna, Durgapur, Haldia, Ranchi and Bhubaneshwar soon. MTNL has also announced the launching of its 3G services in Mumbai by early April. MTNL has already set up 720 base transceiver stations (BTS) for its 3G rollout in the Mumbai circle.

Bottomline is we are heading for a buyers market as far as broadband internet services are concerned. Good news, isn’t it?
