EXTRA ATTEMPT/AGE RELAXATION
572. DR. SANJEEV KUMAR SINGARI:
Will the PRIME MINISTER be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government has recorded the demand for extra attempt and age relaxation made by candidates that appeared for the UPSC-CSE during the two pandemic years;
(b) if so, the details thereof including the steps taken by the Government to consider the demand; and
(c) if not, the reasons therefor;

(a) to (c): Based on the judgments passed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court in the writ petitions filed by some CSE candidates and in light of the views expressed by the Department related Parliamentary Standing Committee, the matter was duly considered and it was not found feasible to consider any change in the existing provisions regarding number of attempts and age-limit in respect of the CSE.
