The undersigned is directed to state that the Election Commission of India has informed, vide Press Note No. ECI/PN/47/2023 dated 08.08.2023 and letter No. 78/EPS/2023/1767 dated 10.08.2023, that Bye — Election to Seven (7) Assembly Constituencies of Jharkhand, Kerala, Uttar Pardesh, Uttarakhand , Tripura, and West Bengal, are scheduled to be held as under :-

2. Under Section 135B of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, employees entitled to vote at the general/bye election are entitled to grant of paid holiday.
3. The guidelines issued by this Department vide OM No. 12/14/99-JCA dated 10.10.2001 regarding closure of Government Offices and grant of paid holiday in connection with election are enclosed for necessary action and compliance.
4. This may be brought to the notice of all concerned.
