GATE 2016 Results – Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore successfully conducted Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) examination from 30th January to 7th February 2016. A large number of candidates applied and appeared for the examination. GATE 2016 examination was conducted across various exam centers in India. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) results will be declared on March 19. In order to download the results, candidates are required to visit their official website, the link for which for which is and click on the link, ‘GATE 2016 Results’. Thereafter, the candidates should enter the necessary details. On submitting the same, the results will display on their screen. The candidates are advised to take a print-out for future reference.


After the declaration of the results, candidates can download their GATE 2016 score card from the official website. The score cards will be issued to:

  • All SC/ST/PwD candidates whose marks are greater than or equal to the qualifying marks of SC/ST/PwD candidates in their papers
  • All other candidates whose marks are greater than or equal to the qualifying mark of OBC (NCL) candidates in their respective papers.

The competitive exam is conducted every year as a gateway to postgraduate courses at the Master and Doctoral levels across the country, and also to MHRD and other government scholarships, assistantships in engineering, technology, architecture and science. The score obtained by candidates in GATE is also used by a few PSUs during their recruitment.
