CBSE CTET February 2015 – Central Teacher Eligibility Test – Central Board of Secondary Education – Online Application

In accordance with the provisions of sub-section (1) of Section 23 of the RTE Act, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) had vide Notification dated 23rd August, 2010 and 29th July, 2011 laid down the minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in classes I to VIII. It had been inter alia provided that one of the essential qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any of the schools referred to in clause (n) of section 2 of the RTE Act is that he/she should pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) which will be conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE.

CBSE CTET February 2015 – Details :

A. Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V: Primary Stage

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)  OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.  OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)  OR
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

B. Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes VI-VIII: Elementary Stage

Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).  OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).  OR
Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1- year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.  OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.  OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)

Validity Period : The Validity Period of CTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be seven years from the date of declaration of its result for all categories.

Schedule of Examination : i) Paper II – on 22nd February 2015 (Time – 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.)  ii) Paper I – on 22nd February 2015 (Time – 2 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.)

Examination fee : i) Only Paper I or II – General & OBC Candidates – Rs.600/- ; SC/ST/PH Candidates – Rs.1000/-  ii) Paper I & II – General & OBC Candidates – Rs.1000/-  ;  SC/ST/PH Candidates – Rs.500/-. (The required fee may be made either online or offline using a specific challan for the purpose).

How to Apply : Candidates are required to apply online. After successful registration online and making fee payment, Candidates are required to take printout of Confirmation Page for record and keep it for their reference. The Confirmation Page is not required to be sent to CTET Unit.
