ADVISORY : SARS COV-2 THIRD WAVE
1. In anticipation of the third wave of COVID-19, proper preparation to mitigate its effect on health care workers and patients must be ensured. Precautionary measures like wearing of N95 face masks, PPE kits, hand hygiene and maintaining social distancing, prevention of overcrowding in offices and surgeries must be followed.
2. It is reiterated that Delta Plus variant of SARS-CoV-2 variety has been isolated from samples and it is also dubbed as Variant of Concern (VoC). Keeping in mind that dental surgeries are closed spaces, proper fumigation of surgeries, ‘airing’ of offices and waiting rooms, use of heap air filters, ionizers, proper sterilization of equipment, disinfection of surfaces and other safety measures are strongly recommended. OIC PC/DO must sensitize the paradental staff, housekeepers and other staff regularly to the benefits of being fully vaccinated, isolation of suspected cases, danger of letting one’s guard down adhering to the universally accepted SARS-CoV-2 safety protocol.
