TANCET 2019: Online Application Begins; Apply from May 8, 2019

Applications for Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) 2019 conducted by Anna University, Chennai on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu from candidates who seek admission to 1. M.B.A., 2. M.C.A. and 3. M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Arch. / M.Plan. Degree Programmes for the academic year 2019 – 2020 offered at University Departments, University Colleges of Engineering, Regional Campuses of Anna University, Annamalai University, Government and Government Aided Colleges (Engineering, Arts & Science Colleges) and Self-financing Colleges (Engineering, Arts & Science Colleges including stand-alone Institutions) in Tamil Nadu can be registered only through Online. Some Universities and Self-Financing Engineering Colleges may also opt to admit the candidates on the basis of marks obtained in TANCET 2019. Other State candidates can appear for the entrance test, but the eligibility conditions will be stipulated by the admitting authority / University.

The candidates who would like to appear for the TANCET 2019 can apply online through the official website of Anna University, annauniv.edu from May 8, 2019. The candidates can register only through online by logging on to www.annauniv.edu/tancet2019. The last date to submit the online application for TANCET 2019 is May 25, 2019.

Starting date of application – May 8, 2019

Last date to apply online – May 25, 2019

Exam date for MCA programme – June 22, 2019

Exam date for MBA programme – June 22, 2019

Exam date for M.E. /M.Tech. /M.Arch. / M.Plan – June 23, 2019

Registration Fees:

Candidates have to register only one application for all the three entrance tests. The candidates have to pay 500/- ( 250/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu) as entrance test fee for any one of the programmes, 1. M.B.A., or 2. M.C.A. or 3. M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Arch. / M.Plan.

If a candidate desires to appear for more than one Programme, for every additional programme, he/she has to pay 500/- ( 250/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu). The entrance test fee can be paid only through Online.

Eligibility Criteria:

M.B.A

A pass in a recognised Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration and obtained at least 50 % (45 % in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying degree examination.

(a) 10+2+3/4/5 years pattern

(or)

(b) 10+3 years Diploma +3 years pattern

(or)

(c) B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch./B.Pharm.

(or)

(d) (i) 10+2+AMIE*

(or)

(ii) 10+3 years diploma (awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) + AMIE.

M.C.A.

A pass in a recognised Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration with mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduate level and obtained at least 50 % (45 % in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying degree examination.

(a) 10+2+3/4/5 years Pattern

(or)

(b) 10+3 years Diploma + 3 years Pattern

(c) (i) 10+2+AMIE*

(or)

(ii) 10+3 years diploma (awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) + AMIE*

M.C.A. Lateral Entry

A pass in a recognised Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration in BCA, B.Sc. (Computer Science / Information Technology) with mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduate level and obtained at least 50 % (45 % in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying degree examination.

10+2+3 years Pattern

M.E. / M.Tech. /M.Arch./M.Plan.

a. A pass in a recognised Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the relevant field and obtained atleast 50 % (45 % in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying degree examination.

(i) B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch.

(or)

(ii) B.Pharm.

(or)

(iii) Master’s Degree in the relevant branch of Science / Arts, which are prescribed.

b. (i) 10+2+AMIE*

(or)

(ii) 10+3 years diploma (awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) + AMIE.*

Hall Ticket And Mark Sheet:

The Registration Number assigned in the Hall Ticket should be entered at the appropriate place in the admission application form to be filed with the respective admitting authority later.

Hall Ticket should be produced at the time of Entrance Test and also at the time of Admission. If the hall ticket is lost after the test, a duplicate hall ticket can be obtained on payment of 100/- in the form of a Demand Draft, with a written request to The Secretary, TANCET, Anna University, Chennai – 600 025, indicating the Registration No. / Application No. and the name of the Examination Centre.

Mark sheets should be downloaded from the website by the candidates within 10 days from the date of publication of results of the entrance test. The mark sheet should be produced at the time of admission. If the mark sheet is lost, a duplicate mark sheet can be obtained on payment of 100/- in the form of a Demand Draft, with a written request to The Secretary, TANCET, Anna University, Chennai – 600 025.

Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of “The Secretary (TANCET), Anna University” payable at Chennai.
