SBI PO Recruitment 2018: State Bank of India has released the recruitment notification 2018 for the post of Probationary Officer. Total 2000 vacancies have been announced by SBI this year. This is one of the most wonderful opportunities for those who aim to work in Indian multinational, public sector bank. You can fill the online registration form for SBI PO Recruitment 2018 until 13th May 2018. Applications will be accepted only via online mode. The link for applying online will be active from 21.04.2018. The SBI PO Recruitment process consists of 3 stages, i.e Phase I – Prelims, Phase II – Mains and Phase III – Group Exercise & Interview.

Eligibility Criteria for SBI PO Recruitment 2018: 

Age Limit (As on 31.08.2018)

  • Minimum Age – 21 years
  • Maximum Age – 30 years

Note* – You should have been born not before 02.04.1988 and not after 01.04.1997 (both days inclusive).

Educational Qualifications (As on 01.04.2018):

  • You should be a Graduate in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government (OR)
  • Students in Final Year/Semester of their Graduation provided they produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 31.08.2018 (OR)
  • Candidates with Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate, provided date of passing the IDD is on or before 31.08.2018 (OR)
  • Candidates possessing the qualification of Chartered Accountant.

SBI PO Percentage:

Calculation of Percentage:

  • The percentage marks will be calculated by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects in all semester(s)/year(s) by aggregate maximum marks in all the subjects irrespective of honours/optional/additional optional subject, if any.
  • This will be applicable for those Universities also where Class/Grade is decided on basis of Honours marks only. The fraction of percentage so arrived will be ignored i.e. 59.99% will be treated as less than 60% and 54.99% will be treated as less than 55%.

A Candidate should indicate the percentage obtained in Graduation calculated to the nearest two decimals in their online application. In case where CGPA/OGPA is awarded, the same should be converted into percentage and indicated in the online application.

If called for Interview, the candidate will have to produce a certificate issued by the appropriate authority inter alia stating the norms of the University regarding conversion of grade into percentage and the percentage of marks scored by the candidate in terms of norms.

SBI PO Exam Pattern:

The selection for Probationary Officers will be done through a three-tiered process:

I. Preliminary Examination
II. Mains Examination
III. Group Exercises and Personal Interview

SBI PO Exam Pattern  Prelims (Phase I):

  • As negative marking (penalty) for wrong answers, marks equal to one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted.
  • No negative marking for unattempted questions.
  • No sectional cut offs.

SBI PO Exam Pattern – Mains (Phase II):

SBI PO Mains 2018 will be consist of 2 parts – Objective Test (200 marks) and Descriptive Test (50 marks). Both the parts will take place online.

  • As negative marking (penalty) for wrong answers, marks equal to one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted.
  • There will be no sectional cut off in Mains as well.

Mains Descriptive Test Exam Pattern 

The descriptive paper will be of 30 minutes duration with 50 marks assigned to the test of English Language. You will be tested on Letter Writing & Essay. You will be needed to secure passing marks to qualify the Descriptive Test, to be decided by the Bank.

NOTE: The Descriptive Test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are placed adequately high as per total marks in Objective Test.

SBI PO Exam Pattern 2018 – Group Exercise & Interview (Phase III):

Aggregate marks of candidates qualifying in both Objective and Descriptive Tests will be arranged in descending order in each category. A certain adequate number of candidates as decided by the bank, will be called for the Group Discussion and Interview.

Selection Procedure for SBI PO 2018 Exam:

The selection procedure will be divided into 3 parts, consisting of 2 written papers and a third GD/Interview round. The Preliminary examination is only qualifying in nature and will not be counted towards the final total. Only those who qualify through Phase II will be eligible to attend Phase III processes. The scores of the remaining two rounds will be normalized to 100 as follows:

SBI PO Salary Details:

  • Current Starting Basic Pay: Rs. 27,620/- (with 4 advance increments)
  • Pay Scale: 23700-980/7-30560-1145/2-32850-1310/7-42020
  • Grade: Junior Management Grade Scale-I
  • Allowances: D.A, H.R.A/Lease rental, C.C.A, Medical and other allowances & perquisites as per rules in force from time to time.
  • Total Compensation: Total compensation per annum would be a minimum of 7.55 lacs and maximum of 12.93 lacs depending on place of posting and other factors.
  • Other: SBI plans to offer, subject to necessary approvals, a SMART Compensation Package which would enable candidates a choice to monetize specific elements of the salary package.
