JoSAA mock seat allocation 2018 result: The first round of JoSAA mock seat allotment will publish on Wednesday, June 27. The students can check the seat allotment through the official website, josaa.nic.in for admission into IITs, NITs, IITs and other GFTIs. About 36,000 seats are available in 23 Indian Institute of Technology (IITs), 31 National Institute of Technology (NITs), 23 Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs) and 20 government funded technical institutions (GFTIs) are offering admissions to the students this year.

Mock Round of JoSAA Seat Allocation 2018:

The admission authorities will be conducting the two rounds of mock seat allocation of JoSAA 2018. The mock round is held to provide the candidates with a general idea of how they will be allocated according to their merit and preference of seats. The first round of mock allotment of JoSAA will be released on June 19, 2018 for those candidates who will have registered by then. The second round of JoSAA mock allotment will be published on June 24, 2018. The candidates will have to log into their account to check the JoSAA mock allotment result. Editing and rearrangement of choices will be allowed after the conclusion of mock seat allotment round so that the chances of the candidates being allotted to their preferred seat is higher.

JoSAA 2018 Seat Allocation Procedure:

The seat allocation of JoSAA 2018 will be conducted in seven rounds. NITs, IIITs and GFTIs will be providing B.Tech admissions through JEE Main 2018. For admissions into IITs, the candidates will have to qualify JEE Advanced 2018. The candidates should have registered themselves and filled their choices to participate in the seat allotment process. The result of first round of JoSAA 2018 seat allocation will be announced on June 27, 2018. The provisional seat allocation letter of JoSAA 2018 will be made available in online mode for the selected candidates.

JoSAA 2018 seat allocation will be held in online mode. The admissions to the participating institutes will be done as per the given factors:

  • Category tag of the candidate (Gen/OBC-NCL/SC/ST)
  • Candidate’s position in the rank list
  • Preference selected by the candidates
  • Availability of seats

Candidates will get segregated into different categories as per their birth category, nationality and presence of disability or not. The various category tags are:

  • GEN
  • GEN PwD
  • OBC-NCL
  • OBC-NCL PwD
  • SC
  • SC PwD
  • ST
  • ST PwD
  • Foreign

The state of eligibility will also be assigned to the candidates. The state from where the candidate has completed his/her 12th standard qualifying examination will be his/her state of eligibility. Those states and Union Territories without an NIT will be offered home state quota in the following institutes:

How to check JoSAA Mock Seat Allotment 2018 result?

  • Visit the official website, josaa.nic.in
  • Enter the required details gender, state code of eligibility and nationality
  • Remember to fill your choices of institutes and branches in decreasing order of preference.
  • Once done, the candidate must ensure to lock their choices.

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is set up by the HRD Ministry to regulate centralised admissions in premier engineering institutions will publish JoSAA 2017 mock allotment for the registered students. After the publication of JEE Main ranks, the students were asked to register themselves and provide choices of preferred institutes and courses at JoSAA website.

JoSAA 2018 Seat Allocation – Acceptance Fees:

The candidates will be required to pay the seat allocation acceptance fee of JoSAA 2018. The payment has to be done using e-challan or SBI net banking. Failure to pay the acceptance fee may lead to the candidates’ disqualification.
