GATE 2018 Final Answer Key, Result, Score card, Counselling – Check Formula for GATE 2018 score calculation

IIT Guwahati released the official answer key for GATE 2018 exam on February 19, 2018. The process for challenge submission began on February 21 and was concluded on February 23, 2018. After the authorities have gone through the challenges submitted by the candidates who appeared in the exam, the conducting authority will release the final answer key on March 14, 2018. The result will be prepared based on the final answer key and no challenge will be accepted on the final answer key.

GATE 2018 Answer Key

GATE 2018 answer key has been released officially on 19th February 2018. Candidates can check the answer key via online mode. The answer keys for various papers has been released along with question papers. The authority has provided the answer key separately for each discipline. Answer key challenge facility is also open for payment of a nominal fee. Candidates are able to challenge the answer key between 21st to 23rd February 2018. The final answer key will be published on 14th March 2018.

GATE 2018 scores will be valid for next 3 years and candidates must download their GATE 2018 Score Card from the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS): http://appsgate.iitg.ac.in/

GATE 2018 Result

GATE 2018 result will be published on the GOAPS portal of GATE website. The result is likely to be announced on 17th March 2018. After the declaration of result, GATE Scorecards will be available for the candidates who secure marks equal or more than the cut-off marks.

After the publication of the final answer key on March 14, the result will be announced on March 17. Once the result is released, candidates would be able to download their GATE 2018 score card from March 20, 2018.

The GATE scorecard of the qualified candidates will be available for download on the GOAPS portal.

GATE 2018 Score :

After the evaluation of the answers, the raw scores of candidates will be used to calculate the GTE scores. In case of subjects for which exams were conducted in multiple sessions, raw marks obtained by the candidates in different sessions will be converted to normalized marks for that particular subject.

GATE 2018 Score Card

Only candidates who qualify in the exam can download their GATE score card from March 20 to May 31, 2018. However, after May 31, they can avail the soft copy from IIT Guwahati on payment of an online fee of Rs 500 till December 31, 2018. The marks of the candidates will be normalized as per the papers they are appearing for. The GATE marks will be out of 100 while the score is the normalized one based on the guidelines given.

Important: GATE 2018 score card will be valid for M.Tech admissions for a period of three years. The score will also be used for PSUs requirement.

The qualified candidates are provided with a GATE scorecard which has the validity of three years from the date of announcement of result. GATE 2018 score card reflects the candidate’s performance in entrance test. The facility to download the scorecard will be available from 20th March to 31st May 2018.

GATE Cutoff 2018

Candidates can get an idea of the marks they need to obtain in the exam to qualify in GATE 2018 from the tables given below. However, the GATE cutoff scores for PSU recruitment or M.Tech admissions will be dependent on the PSU or the institute to which the candidate is applying to.

GATE 2018 Counselling

There is no counselling for GATE 2018. Candidates will have to separately apply for the M.Tech admissions. Candidates will have to apply to the IITs, register separately through COAP and check their admission letter. NIT admissions are through CCMT while other institutes and state universities have their own admission process.

GATE COAP 2018

Starting 2017, IITs have designed a common offer acceptance portal (COAP) to enable candidates to check heir admission letters at one place. All GATE 2018 qualified must apply to the IITs of their choice, register through COAP and check the admission offer letters at GATE COAP. They must accept the offer that suits them best and complete the admission formalities at the respective IIT.

GATE 2018 Answer Key

IIT Guwahati has announced the GATE 2018 official answer key for all papers and sessions along with the corresponding question papers. Candidates can use the given GATE answer key 2018 to cross check their answers and calculate their probable scores. Candidates who have appeared for the GATE exam can now login through GOAPS and check their recorded responses. The final answer key of GATE 2018 will be available from March 14, 2018. IIT Guwahati has announced the same on February 14. The answer key of GATE 2018 have been announced by leading coaching centres like GateForum, The GATE Academy, ACE Academy and Made Easy after the conclusion of the test on each of the four dates.

GATE 2018 Paper Analysis

The paper analysis of GATE 2018 will allow candidates to get an idea of the difficulty levels of the test papers, weightage of the questions topic wise, a general idea of the expected cutoffs. After each test paper of GATE 2018 is over, most of the leading coaching centres like GateForum, The GATE Academy, Made Easy etc has released the paper analysis giving details of the weightage of topics, difficulty levels and more. The GATE exam analysis can be used by candidates to gauge their performance in the test and check if they will be able to qualify.
