First time UGC NET Assistant Professor Examination in Online – Apply before 30th September

The NET Assistant Professor Eligibility Test is to be held online this year for the first time. The National Testing Agency has announced that candidates will apply online on or before September 30. To work as assistant professor in colleges and universities, Candidates must qualified in NET or SLED Exam. If the candidate is passed in a nationally conducted NET exam, then he/she become a professor in any college or university in any state in India. At the same time candidates can only work in a specific state if they have qualified in a state-level SLED exam.

Until last year, the NET was conducted by the CBSE on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC). Form this year onwards, National Testing Agency (NTA) holds the National Eligibility Test (NET) on behalf of University Grants Commission (UGC). It is noted that the NET test is being conducted online for the first time. NTA’s first UGC National Eligibility Test 2018 examination will be held on 9th to 23rd Dec 2018.

UGC NET December 2018 – Important Dates:

Official notification release date – 31st August 2018

Application form release date – 1st September 2018

Registration starts – 10th September 2018

Last date to submit application – 30th September 2018

Last to submit fee – 1st October 2018

Application correction – 8th to 14th October 2018

Admit card release date – 19th November 2018

Exam date – 9th to 23rd December 2018

Answer key release date – December 2018

Result declaration – 10th January 2019

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates should have to qualify with at least 55% marks in Master’s Degree or equivalent from any University / Institute which should be recognised by UGC. Candidates must have their graduation degree in the listed subjects. Candidates who are belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD category should have at least 50% marks in Master’s Degree.

Candidates have appeared in the final year of Master’s, whose result is not declared yet, and whose examination has been delayed can also apply and fill NTA UGC 2018 Application Form.

All the Ph.D degree holder candidates if your master’s degree examination has been completed by 19th September 1991 then you will be eligible to apply for UGC NET 2018 with the relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks.
