Tamilnadu TET 2019 Recruitment Notification Released; Apply Online from March 15th, 2019

The Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB), Tamil Nadu has released a recruitment notification for Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TN TET) on its official website, trb.tn.nic.in. Applications are invited only through online mode for Teacher Eligibility Test, Paper I and Paper II for the year 2019 from the eligible candidates in Tamil Nadu. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online form the official website, trb.tn.nic.in.

Important Dates:

Date of Notification : 28.02.2019

Commencement of submission of online Application : 15.03.2019

Last date for submission of online Application: 05.04.2019

Date of Written Examination – Paper I : Will be announced later

Date of Written Examination – Paper II : Will be announced later

Examination Fees:

The Examination fee is Rs. 500/- for all the candidates except SC, SCA, ST and Person with Disability. For SC, SCA, ST and Person with Disability Candidates, the examination fee is Rs. 250/-. Since the examination fee is different for various categories, candidates are advised to enter the correct Community / Person with Disability category. Once the payment is made, it will not be refunded.

Online payment to be made only through Payment Gateway. (Net banking/Credit Card / Debit Card)

Offline mode of payment in any form such as Demand Draft / Postal order etc. will not be accepted.

The candidates, who want to appear for both Paper-I and Paper-II, should pay separately for both.

Eligibility Criteria for TNTET 2019:

Educational Qualification:

Minimum Qualifications to write TNTET Paper-I (for classes I-V).

1. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

Or

2. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.

Or

3. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).

Or

4. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

Or

5. Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

Or

6. Graduation with atleast 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.,).

Minimum Qualifications to write TNTET Paper-II (for classes VI-VIII).

1. Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

Or

2. Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.).

Or

3. Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations.

Or

4. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).

Or

5. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc. Ed or B.A. Ed./B.Sc. Ed.

Or

6. Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of B.Ed. (Special Education).

Or

7. Any candidate having qualified B.Ed. programme, recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TET. Moreover, as per existing TET guidelines circulated vide NCTE letter dated 11.02.2011, a person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010 is also qualified to appear in the TET.

TNTET 2019 – Exam Pattern & Syllabus:

Number of questions: 150 Multiple Choice Questions

Duration of Examination: 3 Hours

Paper I

Note:-

a. Child Development and pedagogy will focus on Educational Psychology of Teaching and Learning, relevant to the age group of 6 – 11 years.

b. Language I will focus on the proficiencies related to the Medium of Instruction.The candidate has to choose any one of the languages mentioned in Sl.No.(ii) above in Paper-I table. For recruitment process candidates shall be eligible for the vacancies in the concerned medium only

c. Language II English will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.

d. Mathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of these subjects.

e. The questions in the TET Paper I will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus of the State for Classes I – V but their difficulty level as well as linkages will be up to the Secondary Stage.

Paper II

Note:-

a. Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on Educational Psychology of Teaching and Learning, relevant to the age group of 11-14 Years.

b. Language-I will focus on the proficiencies related to the medium of instruction. The candidate has to choose any one of the languages mentioned in Sl. No.(ii) above in Paper II table. For recruitment process, candidate shall be considered for the vacancies in the concerned medium only.

c. Language II – English will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.

d. Mathematics and Science / Social Science will focus on the concepts. Problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of these subjects.

e. The questions in the test Paper-II will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus of the State for Classes VI-VIII but their difficulty level as well as linkages will be up to the Senior Secondary (Higher Secondary ) Stage.

How to apply for TNTET 2019?

a) Candidates should apply only through online mode in the TRB website http://www.trb.tn.nic.in

b) Use separate application for Paper-I and Paper-II.

c) Candidates should ensure that they have their scanned recent color passport size photograph (JPG/JPEG /PNG format of size 20-60 kb) and signature (JPG/JPEG/PNG format of size 10-30 kb) separately. The online application uploaded without the photograph and signature will be rejected.

d) A valid e-mail id and Mobile Number are mandatory for registration and e-mail id should be kept active till the declaration of results.

e) All the particulars mentioned in the online application including name of the candidate, paper applied, communal category, date of birth, address and all other fields will be considered as final. Candidates are requested to fill the online application form with utmost care and caution as no correspondence regarding change of details will be entertained. Incomplete or defective applications shall be summarily rejected. No representation or correspondence regarding such rejection shall be entertained under any circumstances.

f) The online application can be submitted up to 05.04.2019 till 05.00 PM after which the link gets disabled.
