Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for combined higher secondary level (CHSL) exam today, March 5. Last date to apply is April 5, 2019. Interested and eligible candidates can apply through the official website, ssc.nic.in. The SSC CHSL 2019 computer based test tier 1 will be held from July 1 to July 26. Tier 2 exam (descriptive) will be held on September 29, 2019. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is an autonomous organization that conducts several exams every year for the recruitment of various posts in various departments, offices and ministries of Government of India.

“The Staff Selection Commission will hold a competitive examination for recruitment to the posts of Lower Divisional Clerk/ Junior Secretariat Assistant, Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant and Data Entry Operators for various Ministries/ Departments/ Offices of the Government of India,” the SSC notification reads.

SSC CHSL Recruitment 2019 – Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must check the SSC CHSL eligibility criteria before applying for the exam:

1.Nationality: Candidates who are either:

(a) a citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India

2. Age Limit: The minimum age of the candidates should be 18 years and maximum age 27 years (as on 1st August 2019). Candidates of reserved categories have upper age relaxation as follows:
SC / ST – 5 years
OBC – 5 years
PwD – 10 years
Ex-Serviceman – 3 years

3. Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent exam from a recognized board. For the post of DEO in the Office of Comptroller & Auditor General of India (C&AG), candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent exam in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject.

SSC CHSL Recruitment 2019: Application Form

SSC CHSL application form will be made available online on the official websites of SSC – ssc.nic.in and ssconline.nic.in. Candidates will have to fill up the application form and apply for the exam in the online mode only.

How To Apply For SSC CHSL Exam 2019?

Step 1: Login to SSC official website: ssc.nic.in or ssconline.nic.in.

Step 2: Step on the link for SSC CHSL Recruitment 2019.

Step 3: Click on the link provided to apply online.

Step 4: Read the instructions carefully and click on the link provided for registration.

Step 5: Enter the necessary details asked – basic information about them along with valid email ID and phone number.

Step 6: Check the details and make corrections if necessary.

Step 7: Submit the Registration Form.

Step 8: Upon submission of Registration Form, a Registration ID and Password will be generated. Note them down as you will need them in the future, be it for downloading SSC CHSL Admit Card or for checking SSC CHSL Result.

Step 9: Upload scanned images of your Photograph and Signature in the required format and size.

Step 10: Enter your personal and academic details as well as other necessary information.

Step 11: Once all the fields are filled, you will have to make payment of SSC CHSL application fee.

Step 12: Your application will be complete only after successful payment of the application fees. After that, take a printout of your SSC CHSL online application form for future reference.

Computer-Based Written Test:

SSC CHSL Tier I is an online exam that contains objective questions (MCQ). There are four sections in this exam. The time duration for the exam is 1 hour. There is negative marking of 0.50 marks for every wrong answer.

Descriptive Test:

The Descriptive Test, conducted in English and Hindi, is an offline exam, conducted in pen and paper-based mode. It tests your writing skills. The time duration for the Descriptive Test is 1 hour and the qualifying marks is 33 percent.

Skill Test / Typing Test:

The SSC CHSL Tier III is just qualifying in nature and the marks secured in this stage will not be considered for final merit listing.

SSC CHSL Recruitment 2019: Admit Card:

SSC CHSL Admit Card will be released on the SSC CHSL official website of the respective regions. Candidates will have to login to their account using their SSC CHSL Registration ID and Password (as generated during online registration) to download their SSC CHSL Call Letter.No hard copies will be sent to the candidates. The SSC CHSL Hall Ticket will contain all necessary information about the candidate and the exam, including the exam center, date, and time.
