The spokesperson said the new Chairman has been mandated to give recommendations with regard to new pay scales for the employees and revision in the pension for pensionersas well as family pensioners of the state government.
Government of Punjab has issued a Notification for Cashless Health Insurance scheme to Punjab State Govt Employees. The scheme will be applicable to all the Government serving employees whether covered under old or new pension scheme and also pensioners on compulsory basis.
In a significant move that will benefit over 6.50 lakh employees and pensioners of the state government, the Punjab Cabinet on Wednesday gave its nod to implement Cashless Health Insurance scheme in lieu of the existing policy of reimbursement of the medical expenses.
The Punjab government has enhanced the rate of dearness allowance (DA) payable to the state government employees/pensioners from 65 percent to 72 percent of the revised basic pay with effect from July 1, 2012.
