Bringing Bank Employees under 7th Pay Commission – IBA Chariman says no such a proposal in offing
As 10th Bank Bipartite Wage Settlement is in a Stalemate even after 12 round of Discussion between Indian Banks Association and Bank Employees, news which are not confirmed started spreading in media and Social networking site to the effect that
IBA / Government is considering a proposal of bringing the wage settlement of Bank Employees under the purview of 7th Pay Commission.
In the mean time, IBA Chairman Mr.TM Bhasin has negated to the effect that there is no proposal with IBA for bringing Bank Employees under the purview of 7th Commission
7th CPC has been constituted in the month of February 2014 to look into the pay, allowances and Service matters of Central Government Employees.
As many as 8,00,000 Bank Employees belonging to public sector banks in India are eagerly expecting 10th Bank Bipartite Wage Settlement effective from November 2012. While Bank Trade Unions representing Bank Employees are demanding 25% increase in Wages, IBA offers only 11% increase.
Bank Employees Unions have also objected to such a move
As per media news, Unions have planned to go on strike on 12th November 2014. Indefinite Strike is also on cards as per this news.
