LTC cancellation due to COVID-19

Question

I had booked tickets under LTC 80 during 18-25 April 2020. The flights are cancelled due to the current lockdown situation. Do I need to pay the cancellation charges and would I get them reimbursed?

Don’t cancel the fright tickets. The flight authority will issue Electronic Miscellaneous Document (EMD) Receipt. It will be used in later! journey. If already cancelled orders may come due to the COVID-19.

Hod on as a PIL has been filed for full refund. AI is saying that it is not bound to refund full amount according to its Cancellation and Refund Policy because it did not cancel the flights but was cancelled due to an order of GoI. Both not refunding full amounts and refunding the advance are consequent to GoI;s orders. GoI cannot take different stands when it comes to the same issue
