Railway Board has initiated process for Increasing Promotion Quota percentage for Technician III posts in Diesel/Electric Loco/EMU Sheds on Indian Railways from existing 20% to 25%.
Railway Board has issued a Circular regarding continuing Leased Accommodation allotted for the Railway Officers or Staff who is proceeding on Study Leave. Leased Accommodation can be continued as per the existing norms for 6 months and from 6 months to one year on twice the licence fee.
Railway Board issued Circular stating that effective from 27.11.2015 “No air travel upto JAG. For SG only one-way travel, if required on justification that air journey is unavoidable. In all cases all air travel would be in economy class only.”

Railway Board has clarified that the minimum qualification for Lab Assistant is “Matriculation with Science, plus Diploma in Medical Lab. Technology (DMLT)”. (i) The Course should have been completed in a recognised University, Institution or Board, approved by the Government (ii) The course should be of minimum 1 year duration and training followed by Exam.
7th CPC has recommended that Posts of Railway Commercial Clerks, Enquiry Cum Reservation Clerks (ECRCs) and Ticket Checking staff (TTEs and TCs) are merged as Commercial and Ticketing Staff and then placed in the appropriate level in the new pay matrix
7th Pay Commission has recommended that Assistant Station Masters to be upgraded to Station Masters and fixed with GP of 4200 and then fitted in the revised Pay Matrix. ASM Post has been recommended for abolition.
Railway Board has issued a circular regarding periodical transfer to non-gazetted posts in Railways. Ministry of Railways has also listed the posts for which Periodical Transfer is applicable.
AIRF informs that Railway Board has agreed to delete the clause “working on track” in case of LARSGESS appointments to the wards of Railway Employees. Staff of TRD, Track Machine Department, General Services and Bridge Staff will get the benefit of LARSGESS Scheme in hassle free manner.
Against Railway federation’s request for HRA and TA for candidates appointed on Compassionate grounds in Grade Pay 1900/- in artisan category, Railway Board held that candidates appointed on compassionate grounds not having minimum qualification would be eligible for trainee allowances only.
Railway Officers on deputation can retain Railway accommodation for a period of 2 months. If the deputation is on mandatory basis the accommodation can be continued.
Railway Board issues orders revising the stipend to apprentices and trainees on Railways – The revised rate of stipend are applicable to those batches that undergo the modified training modules indicated against the category.
