Ceiling in Pay for Night Duty Allowance (NDA) – Clarification regarding Fixation of ceiling of pay for entitlement – Defence Ministry Circular
On account of increase in Dearness Allowance with effect from 1st January 2016, Night Duty Allowance payable to Railway Employees is set to increase with effect from 1st January 2016
Railway Board has issued Circular implementing the revised Night Duty Allowance with effect from 01.07.2015 as indicated at Annexure “A” in respect of “continuous”, “Intensive”, ‘Excluded’ categories and workshop employees, and as indicated at Annexure ‘B’ in respect of ‘Essentially Intermittent’ categories.
BPMS cites the recent fixation of ceiling for entitlement of Night Duty Allowance which is Rs. 12380/- pay in Pay Band. However, Night Duty allowance will have to be paid on the basis of actual salary as demanded by BPMS
Pr Controller of Accounts has revised Night Duty Allowance ceiling limit for entitlement of NDA may be fixed at Rs.12380/- keeping in view of the 6th CPC.

Revised Rates of Night Duty Allowance w.e.f. 01.01.2013 consequent on additional instalment of Dearness Allowance to Railway Employees
Overtime allowance is seldom given to the Government employees. In case of emergency and in the contingency in which the work cannot be postponed, like that happens in the RMS division of Postal Department, in the Atomic Energy Commission offices or when the Parliament is in session in other administrative offices, employees are asked to do work beyond the stipulated working hours.
