Reasons for Difference in Method of Revison of Pre-2006 Pension between Commissioned Officers and PBORs

While, Revision of Pension of Pre-2006 Commissioned Officer Pensioners is effective from 1st January 2006 instead of 24.-09.2012, Pre-2006 PBORs (JCO/ORs) Pensioners will get benefit from 1st January 2006 to 31st June 2009, since their pension was already revised on the basis of highest pay in 5th CPC scales from July 2009

NPA to be added to pension of Pre-1996 and Pre-2006 Defence Civilian Medical Officers

Inclusion of NPA with Pay for determining pension benefits was general demand of all defence as well as civilian medical Officer Pensioners for a very long time. Now after the decision of Apex Court, Defence Ministry as well as Ministry of Personnel have accepted for inclusion of NPA for calculating Pension

NPA to be included from 1st jan 1996 and 1st Jan 2006 for Pre-1996 and Pre-2006 Armed forces Medical Officer Pensioners

As decided by Hon’ble Supreme Court NPA has been ordered to taken in account for the purpose of revising pension of pre-2006 Pensioners. This is additional benefit to Armed forces medical officers who are already entitled to revision of pension as per revised concordance table with effect from 1st January 2006 which is applicable to all Commissioned officer pre-2006 pensioners

Commissioned Officer Defence Pensioners to get revised pension with effect from 1st January 2006

After Revision of pre-2006 Defence Pension, anomaly in pension between Army Officers retired in higher rank and officers retired in lower rank was rectified to some extent as pension is based on rank now. Now this revision is effective from 1st January 2006
