All-India CPI-IW for March, 2016 increased by 1 point and pegged at 268. inflation measured by monthly CPI-IW stood at 5.51 per cent.

Consumer Price Index Numbers maintained by Labour Bureau
The price index which is called as AICPI – IW (All India Consumer price Index for industrial workers with the base as 2001=100) for the month of September 2012 has been issued by Government. Central Government Employees, Pensioners and family Pensioners may get Dearness Allowance of 80% with effect from 1st January 2013
The All-India CPI-IW for September, 2012 rose by 1 point and pegged at 215 (two hundred and fifteen). On 1-month percentage change, it increased by 0.47 per cent between August and September compared with 1.55 per cent between the same two months a year ago
The Labour Bureau has been compiling and maintaining three different series of Consumer Price Index numbers viz. (i) Consumer Price Index Numbers for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) on base 2001=100, (ii) Consumer Price Index Numbers for Agricultural Labourer on base 1986-87=100, (iii) Consumer Price Index Numbers for Rural Labourer on base 1986-87=100.
