A Central Government Employee has may kinds of leave and he has choice to avail any of them. The types of Leave and the eligibility conditions, restrictions etc. in respect of each kind of leave are given below for ready use :
Different Types of Leave available to central government employees and a brief description of each leave.
Child Care Leave can be granted to women employees having minor children below the age of 18 years, for a maximum period of 2 years (i.e. 730 days) during their entire service, for taking care of up to two children
DOPT has called for comments on its proposals on guidelines to be issued in respect of Child Care Leave and Maternity Leave
Shri Jayant Sinha, Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance in written reply to a question in Lok Sabha has confirmed that 15 days of Paternity Leave would be available to bank employees as accepted under the 10th Wage Negotiation Settlement signed between Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) and the Unions/Associations of employees
If female Central Government Employee applies for Child Care Leave for at least five working days, she should normally not be refused leave citing exigencies of work unless there are grave and extraordinarily compelling circumstances that warrant refusal.
Child Care Leave to be made applicable for Single Male Parent also says 7th Pay Commission – 7CPC also recommends relaxation in the conditions of CCL for single mothers
Railway Board has issued guidelines for various leave applicable to Railway Employees in the form of FAQ based on DOPT Insructions
Assam State Government has granted up to 730 days as Child Care Leave for its employees. LTA can not be availed during this period. This leave can be availed from child birth to till the child attains the age of 18 years.
CCL is available to West Bengal State Government Female Employees since 2012. Now CCL has been extended to Teaching and Non Teaching Staff of Govt, Govt Aided, Local bodies, panchayat Raj etc.
