Increase in Bonus Ceiling to Rs. 7000 to Casual Labourers in Central Government – Enhancement of the rate of bonus payable to casual labourers
Confederation letter to Finance Ministry for enhancement of ceiling of bonus for Casual Labourers from 3500 to 7000.
The Payment of Bonus (Amendment) Act, 2015 envisages enhancement of eligibility limit under section 2(13) from Rs.10,000/- per month of Rs. 21,000/- per month and Calculation Ceiling under section 12 from Rs.3500 to Rs.7,000
Govt has recently passed the bill for revision of Bonus calculation from Rs. 3500/- to Rs.7000/- and the eligibility ceiling to Rs. 21,000 with effect from 01.04.2014 – As Railway Employees are entitled to Productivity linked Bonus all Railway Unions are pressing the Govt for grant of arrears of bonus for the financial year 2014-15

All India Railwaymen’ Federation (AIRF) has requested Railway Board to pay the arrears in Bonus Payment for the financial year 2014-15. Lok Sabha has already approved the amendmend to Bonus Bill increasing the ceiling limit of wages from Rs. 3500/- to Rs. 7000/- with retrospective from 01.04.2014
Shri Bandaru Dattatreya, Hon’ble Labour Minister, presented the Bonus bill to the Lok Sabha and the same was duly approved. Bonus bill enables wage ceiling for calculating bonus at Rs.7,000 per month with the benefits being applicable retrospectively from April 2014.
Lok Sabha will take up The Payment of Bonus (Amendment) Bill,2015. The bill is set to raise the Bonus Ceiling as well as Ceiling of Pay for Bonus Eligibility.
The proposed amendments in the Act to increase wage ceiling and bonus calculation ceiling were one of assurances given by the Centre after 10 central trade unions went on one-day strike on September 2.
National Federation of Indian Railways has requested Railway Minister to pay Productivity Linked Bonus at revised calculation of Rs.7000
Government is likely to hike Bonus from the current ceiling of Rs 10,000 (basic + DA) per month to Rs 21,000 (basic + DA) a month. Agenda is to be taken up in the forthcoming Cabinet Meet.
The calculation ceiling for payment of ad-hoc Bonus under these orders shall continue to be monthly emoluments of Rs. 3500/-. Maximum amount of bonus for Central Government Employees, Central Para Military Forces and Armed Forces will be Rs. 3454/-
It is the demand of Railway Employees as well as other Central Government Employees who are eligible for Productivity linked bonus for removal of Bonus Calculation Ceiling of Rs. 3500 /-
The present bonus ceiling of Rs. 3500 per month was fixed long time back and Central Trade Unions are demanding for increase in bonus ceiling and ceiling for calculating bonus as those are too minimal in the present cost of living
