Consumer Price Index for the Month of July 2016 – The All-India CPI-IW for July, 2016 increased by 3 points and pegged at 280.
On the basis of All India Consumer Price Index for the period from July 2015 to April 2016 and assumed indices for May and Jun 2016, DA for Central Government Employees in Pre-revised pay (6th CPC) and DA from July after implementation of 7th Pay Commission have been estimated
All India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers with base year 2001=100 is used for determining Dearness Allowance for Central Government Employees including Railway Employees, Defence Personnel and all Central Pensioners
All-India CPI-IW for March, 2016 increased by 1 point and pegged at 268. inflation measured by monthly CPI-IW stood at 5.51 per cent.
DA with effect from January 2016 was estimated by 7th Pay Commission in its report released in November 2015, as 125%. This estimation is correct now as Govt has approved the increase in DA to an extent of 6% with effect from January 2016.
