Brain Test

Which side of your brain do you use most ? (To my friends – Which side your brain do you use most ?- if you have one)

Take this brain test and find it yourself.

Take a look at this animated image and tell the direction of the doll’s rotation. Is it rotating in the clock wise direction ? or in the Anti-Clock wise direction ?

May appear to be a bit silly. But when my family members took this test simultaneously, two of us could see the doll rotating in clock wise direction and the others said it is rotating in anti- clock wise direction. How ?

The following chat I had with my friend may probably tell you the answer.

Chat starts

me: Suresh you there ? I have sent you an image. Can you tell me the direction of its rotation ? Is it in Clock wise or Anti clock wise? tell me fast man

suresh: anti

me: I see it in clock wise. I checked with my wife and kids. Two of us see this in anti. Is it an illusion?

suresh: ya kind of…I can see it clockwise too if I care to look at it that way

suresh: the fact is in a 2d screen seeing it from the front, there is no actual rotation…the feeling of rotation itself is our imagination, be it clockwise or anti
Sent at 7:13 AM on Friday

me: then could it (the imagination) be attributed to dominance of one side of the brain over the other?
suresh: ya exactly..it is the thought that comes first to you that matters

Chat ends

Experts say If you could see the clockwise rotation, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa. Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it.

Function of brain is still a mystery. But, experts after year long study have categorized the functions of right and left brain.
