Revision of Pension of Pre-2006 Pensioners with less than 33 years of Service – Govt issues orders for delinking of revised pension from qualifying service of 33 years
After a long legal battle, Pre-2006 Pensioners who have put on less than 33 years service have the Govt’s nod on their favour. As committed before various legal forums including Hon’ble Supreme Court, Govt has issued orders for delinking of revised pension from qualifying service of 33 years from the calculation of pension of pre-2006 pensioners. Until now, pre-2006 pensioners with less than 33 years of service have been receiving only pro-rata pension based on the completed years of service. However, in respect of Pensioners who retired on or after 1st January 2006, govt has fixed the qualifying service for receipt of full pension as 20 years on implementation of 6th pay commission recommendations
By virtue of the subject office memorandum dated 06.04.2016, this pension anomaly has been rectified now.
