Increase in certain allowances by 25%
Government has decided that consequent upon enhancement of Dearness Allowance payable to Central Government employees @ 51% with effect from January, 2011 allowances are increased by 25%. Those are as follows:
a) The annual ceiling limit for reimbursement of Children Education Allowance shall be Rs.15,000 per child. Accordingly, the quarterly claim could be more than Rs.3750 in one quarter and less than Rs.3750 in another quarter subject to the annual ceiling of Rs.15,000 per child and Hostel Subsidy shall be Rs.3750 per month per child;
b) The rates of Special Allowance for Child Care to women with disabilities stands revised to Rs. 1250 per month; and
c) The annual ceiling for reimbursement of education allowance for disabled children of Government employees shall be treated as revised to Rs.30,000 per annum per child and the rates of Hostel Subsidy for disabled children of Government employees shall be treated as revised from Rs.6000 per child per month to Rs.7500 per child per month.
These revisions are applicable with effect from 1st January, 2011
These revisions shall be subject to other terms and conditions mentioned in this Department's O.M. No.120I110312008-Estt (Allowance) dated 2.9.2008 and O.M. No 1201 1/04/2008 dated 11.9.2008.

How about the increase in the pension elements after the Govt released orders for enhancing certain allowances by 25%? Govt of India must look into this matter urgently and issue orders increasing the pension by 25% for the CG Pensioners.
Sir, is there any increase in Transport Allowance consequent on the reach of 50% DA as ordered for Children Education Allowance to 15,000/-
No Transport allowance is not included in the list of allowances that automatically increase according DA percentage

i have already claimed the earlier celing i.e. Rs. 12000/- between April 2010 to Dec 2010. Now I have submitted Reimbursement claim for Rs. 3000/- alongwith fee receipts for the quarter Jan 2011 to March 2011. What amount is reimbursable to me. Is it will be Rs. 3000/- for Rs. 750/-? Kindly clarify.
The hike in CEA is effective from 1.1.2011. So the enhanced CEA will be given only from 1.1.2011
you are kind enough to revert to query at the earliest possible. you mean to say that only rs. 750/- (MAX) is permissible if anyone has already claimed rs. 12000/- upto the quarter ending dec 2010?
I have submitted the reimbursement bill of tuition fees of my two children, the total of CEA was respectively 14400/- & 13760/-, and the last quarter of both the CEA was respectively 3140/- & 2960/-, as per the increase in D.A what will be the total CEA reimbursement 12750/- of 12000/- for each child, what amount of CEA I will get for 2010-2011 for my both children respectively. My office have paid me total amount of CEA for both the children is 24000/-, paid amount is as per rule or I am entitle to get Rs. 25500/-

As the Da increase is wef 1/1/11 and thus as per Academic year CEA will be proportionately be increased as Rs13250 (25% of 5000 only) for 2010- 2011.Our PAO taken a stand that if the Tuition fee bills paid after 1/2011 will only get this proportionate increase( some what logical)
