General Strike- Union Leaders to go ahead as discussion with Govt failed

General Strike on 20th and 21st February 2013 – All Trade Union Leaders decided to go ahead with Strike as Discussion held with the Cabinet Minister and Minister of State for Labour failed

All Central Government Employees, Railway employees, and Defence Workers Strike on 20th and 21st February 2013 called for by Confederation of Central Government Employees, AIRF, and other affiliated Central Trade unions / Associations will be in place as all trade unions and associations which met Cabinet Minister for Labour Shri Mallikarjun Kharge and Minister of States for Labour Shri Kodikkunnil Suresh on 13.02.2013 decided to go ahead with the Strike.

It is announced by Shri.Krishnan, SG, NFPE in official website of All India Postal Employees Union that discussion had with Trade Union leaders with Ministers failed as Government is not ready to concede the demands

Hence, all Trade Union Leaders have unanimously decided to go ahead with the General Strike on 20th and 21st of February 2013.

The following is the text of announcement by NFPE regarding General Strike.

DISCUSSION FAILED

CENTRAL TRADE UNIONS DECIDE TO GO AHEAD WITH THE TWO DAYS STRIKE.

Cabinet Minister for Labour Shri Mallikarjun Kharge and Minister of States for Labour Shri Kodikkunnil Suresh held discussion with Central Trade Union leaders on 13.02.2013 on the Charter of Demands.

Discussion failed as Government is not ready to concede the demands.

All Trade union leaders unanimously decided to go ahead with the Strike.
