Enhanced Dearness Relief to Pensioners

In line with the order dated 13.03.09 issued for enhancement of Dearness Allowance from 16% to 22% with effect from 1st Jan 2009 for all Central Government Employees, Government has issued Office Memorandum dated 27.03.09, enhancing Dearness Relief payable to all CG Pensioners / Family Pensioners from 16% to 22% with effect from 1st Jan 2009.

The order applicable to all civilian central government pensioners/family pensioners, armed forces pensioners, civil pensioners paid out of the defence service estimates, all India service pensioners, railway pensioners and the burma civilian pensioners/family pensioners and pensioners/families of displaced government pensioners from Pakistan who are Indian nationals but receiving pension on behalf of Government of Pakistan who are in receipt of ad-hoc ex-gratia allowance of Rs.3500 pm.

The order also says that CPF beneficiaries who are in receipt of ex-gratia payment, are entitled for Dearness Relief @ 42% with effect from 01-07-2008 and @ 56% with effect from 01-01-2009.
