Cash award to meritorious students

Human Resource Development Wing of Customs & Central Excise has announced revised Scheme for grant of Cash Award to meritorious children of 10th/12th standard Board Examination-2009 of officers and staff of the Department.  The official communicaion says, “the Governing Body, constituted to administer the Customs and Central Excise Welfare Fund has reviewed the existing Scheme for grant of Cash Awards to the children of Departmental officers and staff at 10th and 12th level in Board Examinations held in 2009”.

This cash award is applicable for the year 2008-09 i.e for Board Examination-2009 held in March/April, 2009.

It is applicable to children of officials borne on the strength of Central Excise and Customs including those who are on deputation/working in other Departments / Ministries / Organizations etc.

Maximum Cash award in this scheme is Rs.6000/-.  Various Minimum percentage of marks have been fixed for eligibility of cash award depending upon the gender, community, education stream, and post held by the employee.  For example a Male child passed 12th std in science stream with 85% of mark will be eligible for a cash reward of Rs.5000/-.
