Case Filed Against Lord Rama – Chandan says that his aim is not to hurt anybody’s religious sentiments, but wants justice meted out to Sita.
A court in Bihar’s Sitamadhi district has got a bizarre petitioner in which he had appealed to sue Lord Ram for renouncing his wife Sita in Ramayana.
According to reports, an advocate from Sitamadhi, Thakur Chandan Kumar Singh, has said that Lord Rama was ‘torturous’ to his wife Sita by throwing her out of the house after listening to what a washerman had to say about their marriage. The lawyer also questions that how Lord Rama could be so heartless towards his own wife.
Chandan claims that the injustice towards women began in Treta Yug (when Lord Rama is believed to have ruled Ayodhya). He further says that until the women from Treta Yug are not given justice, women in Kalyugwon’t get it either.
Chandan says that his aim is not to hurt anybody’s religious sentiments, but wants justice meted out to Sita.
The court accepted to hear the petitioner on Monday where the decision will be taken by the judge to accept the plea or reject it.
The case reminds of a 2012 film starring Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal, which had a story line in which a case was filed against God for creating natural calamities.
