My Profession and Passion is the Automotive technology, So it is of great help for me to always to learn new things in this technology field.
I thought why not I share the info I know about the latest technologies and happenings in Auto World ?
Why am I telling all these things? There is an auto enthusiast within everybody without we knowing it. I just wanted to bring out that character within you, and in a way allowing me to learn more things in this field. So, a small selfish string attached in everything.
So where shall we start?
The best way to start is to see around what’s happening currently in the auto industry , a quick round up of the news.
Tata Indica V2 with new CR4 diesel engine:
All Tata Indica Fans! It’s for you. Indica V2 is going to get a new CR4 diesel engine.which is currently fitted in Indigo CS. The new version of Indica will be called Indica Turbomax. Power ratings are 70 BHP and 13.7 Kgm of Torque. This is surely a big leap in power of diesel Indica, which is currently 57 BHP with 8.2 Kgm of Max torque. Price will be little premium compare to current Indica, but surely worth it. Expect this car in Mar' 11.
New Tata Pixel roll-out:
Tata news again, and this time it’s about TATA’s new city car concept called PIXEL! This will be revealed by Mr Ratan Tata in Geneva Motro Show 2011 starting on March 01. I just couldn’t get any pictures from anywhere ;-( . This next generation city car is expected to have 3 Cylinder Diesel engine and expected to be slotted along with Nano but with some futuristic design.
Renault Fluence in India:
Renault, the French Manufacturer is coming up with a car in the range of 12-13 lakhs. It’s called FLUENCE. This will have both petrol and Diesel models and will be first car from Renault alone. Expect this in the showrooms by May-June this year and will followed by a SUV called KOLEOS, which will be in the price range of 16-17 lakhs and expected around Oct – Nov this year .
India is glowing:
PSA Peugeot Citroen too have finalized its India entry, rather re-entry again. They are about to finalize the location of the plant, which can be either Andhra Pradesh or the Detroit of India, Chennai! There is a every chance of them joining hands with Mitshubishi, with whom they have already some partnership in certain areas. With this setup they can reduce the lead time to bring in their Products, as Mitshubishi already have a plant in Chennai. With these two French manufacturers, Renault and PSA Peugeot Citroen, All Top 10 car Manufacturers in the world will have their presence in India. Surely India is glowing !
All New Chevrolet Beat diesel version:
There is some more good news for Diesel lovers. Chevrolet Beat is going to hit the market with Diesel variant this June. This will be a 3 Cylinder engine, sourced from FIAT. As you will be aware, giants such as Maruti and Tata also source their Diesel engine too from FIAT. So FIAT’s engine running everywhere but not their cars ;-(
No Ford Fiesta Classic any more:
New Ford Fiesta is going to come up in May-June this year. This is completely new design and will fight with Honda City and Volkswagen Vento category. The older fiesta will be called as FIESTA CLASSIC from then on!
