    Default Pay fixation in case of Upgradation of Post

    Sirs,

    I want to know, in case of upgradation of post how the pay is to be fixed.

    The post in 6500-200-10500 scale was upgraded to 7500-11500.

    whether the pre-revised pay should be fixed in the upgraded scale before revising as per CPC?

    i.e a person drawing 6900 as on 01.01.2006 should be fixed with Rs.7500 as on 01.01.2006 before applying multiplier?

    No office has done like this. They just multiplied 6900 by 1.86 and fixed the
    Grade pay as 4800 (Applicable to the Scale 7500-11500).

    What is the purpose of upgradation of the said post if not fixing at 7500?

    Kindly clarify me

    plz send the om for the scale6500-200-10500 was upgraded to 7500-

    Dear friend
    The pay fixation in upgraded scale has already been clarified byDoP&T/MoF vide its OM dated 13.09.2008. The pay fixation done in this case is correct as per OM. What you are asking is not an unique question, every body whose pay scale is upgraded is frustated with this pay fixation as it arises several anomalies where juniors are getting higher pay then seniors. MoF is not looking in to it.

    well, things remain same.

    i have a doubt. i request seniors to clarify it.

    sixth pay commission recommended certain posts to be given upgraded pay scales. Government interpreted it to provide ONLY AND ONLY upgradation of grade pay. Now since 65oo scale is itself gone to 4600 and only old 5000 and 5500 scales remain in grade pay 4200, what should be the fate of posts upgraded to 6500 scale. I believe that since pay commission explicitly has mentioned upgraded pay scales BEFORE grade pay in upgradation scheme, this is again going to be an uncomfortable question to sloths in fm and dopt.

    Dear Mr Vikram,

    All the three scales were merged and the GP 4200 was granted by calculating 40% of 10500, the maximum of the pay scale 6500-10500. It seems that the pre-revised scales of GP 4200 remain seperate. The pre-revised scale of 6500-10500 has been upgraded 7450-11500, ie. GP granted 40% of 11500. Therefore, in my view, there is no possibility further upgradation for 5000 and 5500.
