Approximately 9.30 lakh candidates registered for UGC NET 2017, out of which, 409439 male, 519557 female candidates and 3 transgenders registered for the exam. Last year, around 3,650 qualified for JRF and Assistant Professorship out of a total of 22,381 candidates.

UGC NET 2017 Qualifying Criteria

The leading 6% candidates amongst the test takers in the order of merit will be eligible for the post of Assistant Professor. The calculation for the subject-wise and category-wise distribution of slots can be done by using the formula as given below, which is also applicable for JRF.

Number of candidates who have opted for JRF and are qualified for eligibility for Assistant Professor in that subject × No. of slots available under General (UR) category ÷ Total No. of General (UR) candidates who have opted for JRF and are qualified for eligibility for Assistant Professor.

UGC NET 2017 Cut Off Marks

The aspirants will have to obtain the minimum qualifying marks/ cutoff marks in aggregate of all three papers (Paper 1, Paper 2 & Paper 3) to qualify the UGC NET offline entrance examination. The table given below shows the required cutoff category-wise.

UGC NET 2017 E-Certificate

The CBSE is only responsible for up to the conduct of NET Examination and declaration of its result. The UGC -NET Bureau issues the e-certificates to the qualifiers of the UGC NET. UGC NET 2017 Merit List

After the declaration of UGC NET Result 2017 for November Session, the exam conducting body will prepare a merit list. The preparation of the merit list is on the basis of the aggregate marks of all the three papers as secured by the aspirants. Also, a separate merit list will be prepared for the award of JRF amongst the qualifiers of NET.
