NEET 2017 Counselling Started, results to release on July 15

NEET 2017 Counselling Started For 470 Medical, 308 Dental Colleges, fill your choices at mcc.nic.in

The medical online counselling registration will begin from July 3 for the admission in undergraduate medical programmes on the bais of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) results which was declared on June 23. In order to comply with the directions from Supreme Court of India on the admission process, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has constituted a Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

NEET 2017 counselling process has begun and the candidates can know more about the counselling dates, registration, choice filling here. The counselling process is completely online and the candidates have to log in to mcc.nic.in to lock their preference.

NEET 2017 Notice has been released regarding Eligibility Criteria for Applying for 15% AIQ (All India Quota) and last years closing ranks for 15% AIQ. Click here to check notification.

The counselling process will end on August 16. The MBBS and BDS courses will begin their academic term from August 4. The counselling will be held online at 15 per cent of the general category seats. In the first round of seat allotment, a candidate has to report to the allotted institute.

The registration, choice filling and indicative seat will begin on July 3 and will continue till July 11 (until 5 pm). States will conduct separate two-round counselling for admission to state quota seats in government and private colleges.

The candidate can fill their choice and lock it by July 12 (until 5 pm). The seat allotment will be done on July 13 and 14 and the results will be out on July 15. Reporting at the allotted medical or dental college will start from July 16 to July 22 (until 5 pm).

In the round two, the medical aspirants will be given time from August 1 till August 4 (5 pm) to exercise their choices, locking and new registration. The seat will be alloted from August 5 to August 7 and the result will be out on August 8. The candidate has to reach the allotted medical or dental college from August 9 to August 16 with all relevant documents.

Transfer of vacant seats to state quota will take place on August 16 (after 5 pm). In NEET 2017, a total of 6,11,539 candidates have qualified of which 2,66,221 are male and 3,45,313 are female candidates.

Steps to register for counselling:

Go to the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) site.

Click on UG medical counselling and then all-India quota counselling, check the left side of the page that opens and click on ‘new registrations’ .

Once the page opens, candidates will be required to key in their roll number, registration number, name, mother’s name, date of birth, cell number and email. They will just get a One Time Password(OTP) for completing the registration process on the mobile number given in the form so the mobile phone should be kept ready.

Registration and choice filling (July 5) of subjects will be done from July 3 to 11, with registrations open up to 5 pm on July 11. After that, choice filling and locking will be done on July 12.

Seat allotments will be done over two days, from July 13 to 14, and results of counselling, round one, will be out on July 15.

Students will then be required to report at their medical/dental colleges over seven days from July 16 to July 22, up to 5 pm on the last day.

The second round of registrations will be done from August 1.

NEET Counselling Procedure

The counselling procedure is organized in two rounds. The procedure of NEET online counselling is mentioned below:

Online Registration: To participate in NEET counselling, the candidate has to register themselves by filling their basic details. Without registration, candidates will not able to participate in the counselling procedure. After registration, candidates will get a unique USER ID & PASSWORD in registered email Id & mobile number. Candidates have to register with the given user id & password for further procedure.

Choice Filling & Locking: Now, candidates have to select the medical/dental colleges & courses as per their preference. After final selection, candidates have to click on “Save” button & lock their choices. It is necessary to lock the choices.

Result Declaration: Candidates will receive a SMS or email related to the allotted course & colleges after a few days of the counselling process. The seats will be allotted to the candidates on the basis of rank & opted choice of colleges.

Reporting to the Allotted College: After result announcement, candidates have to report in the allotted college and confirm their seat by paying the course fee. In case, the candidate failed to report in the allotted college at the given time frame the seats will be given to the next candidate.

NEET Admission 2017

Candidates do not need any documents for participating in the online allotment process; whereas at the time of joining in the allotted college candidates shall have to take along original documents along with the photocopies, details of which can be found at mcc.nic.in.

Candidates belonging to OBC, SC, ST and PH categories need to be very particular about the certificates supporting their categories. ‘In case the candidate fail to produce proper Caste (and PH, if applicable) certificate at allotted Medical/ Dental College then he/ she will not be permitted to join the allotted Medical / Dental College (allotted seat will be cancelled) and his/ her category will be changed, if otherwise eligible for changed category.
